Well, we've made it to the New Year - 2011. We live in the Future! Of course, according to what some people have decided the Mayans predicted, we only have another couple of years left.
I don't really have much in the way of plans for tonight. There's a couple of partys around, but I'm not much of a party person. Might just stay at home.
I got out and about yesterday, but I guess I paid for it last night - very long, uncomfortable, sleepless night. Hopefully tonight will be better.
I have a disorder called Chiari. Basically, part of my cerebellum is being squeezed into my spine. I have brain in my neck...thus, Shane in the Neck. Cause sometimes I think I'm clever.

Two-Days-After-Christmas Tuesday (still working on the alliteration)
Chiari is weird. Somedays I feel pretty good, others bad. It's like I have to pay for having a good day.
In other news; I went to a Christmas party and got several Star Wars RPG books. So, yay for me. :) One more party to go!
In the Weather Department; very cold today, supposed to slowly get warmer as the week goes on - 60-ish on New Years Eve.

Christmas Evening
I've had a good Christmas so far. I've felt pretty good all day. I have a full belly and I'm safe at home watching the snow fall. I got some pretty cool swag. My wonderful wife got me an Admiral Ackbar action figure - IT'S A TRAP!!!
Two more parties to go to. One tommorow and one next week. I know at one I'll be getting several Star Wars RPG books and I'll probably get something Geek related at the other.

So, it's 6:30 Christmas morning and my yard is covered in snow! Yay for a White Christmas!
Everyone else is still asleep, so I'm just waiting patiently for them to arise. My kid is 17 (18 in about 2 weeks) so we don't have the extremely exciting Christmas Mornings anymore.
Not being able to sleep, I decided to come on downstairs - and yep, sure enough, Santa made it last night. Which is good. There was some concern that he wasn't gonna make it this year, but he pulled it off at the last moment!
I'm rather enjoying the peace and tranquility of staring out across the white yards and tree-limbs of my neighborhood, nothing is stirring, not even a...well, I did see a cat run across the street, hope the mouse wasn't stiring - glad my 5 dogs didn't notice. They're also asleep , so the quite stillness of a White Christmas Morning hasn't been shattered by 300 lbs of dogs exploding with dangerous intent.
I hear movement upstairs, so I'll Holla at y'all later. Merry Christmas!

It's Christmas Eve Eve. I'm not done shopping and I don't have a ride. Looks like I'll be doing the Husband-on-Christmas-Eve thing. Not my fault though!
Over-all, I'm feeling better since I stated getting my meds - have a headache today that wont go away though. Oh well, hopefully I'l feel better tommorow.
So, I'm bored, stuck at home and flipping thru the channels...and I find a show with vampires and werewolves. That's right, I'm a big old teenage Girl getting sucked into The Vampire Diaries!

Terrific Tuesday
Yay! As of last night, I'm back on my proper medications! I'm feeling much better now. :)
Other than that, lets see: We had a lunar eclipse last night, but it was a cloudy night, so I couldn't see it. I ran across a video, so that was pretty cool, but the next one isn't until 2014.
Oh, and today marks the beginning of Winter, so that's cool I guess. almost Christmas - 4 days to go. Probably should actually go shopping.

Medicare Monday
So, I take $1500 a month worth of medicine. I was approved for Medicare several months ago. I've been trying to get approved for Prescription Coverage. It's amazingly difficult! I have been approved starting in February. Since September I have been paying out of pocket whatever I can afford to get. Meaning I've been taking 4 of the 13 pills I'm supposed to take everyday. This past week I've called Medicare 5 times and still haven't cleared it up.

Paranormal
Okay, so, who believes in paranormal phenomenon? Ghosts, Sasquatch, UFO's, Werewolves, etc?
Personally, I've seen a few weird things; odd movements and weird shapes in otherwise empty buildings, felt hands shove against back when no one else was in the room, and I used to see a Shadow Person regularly in my Uncle's old house - completely black silhouette wearing what appeared to be a fedora! As well as other things.
Oh yeah, and of course the werewolf that bit me that time.
So, tell your stories.

Overall, I had a nice time today. My direct family - Dad, stepmom, siblings, their families , &c had our Christmas. Good food, games, toys. Fun was had by all. The bad side was my wife, Beth, wasn't able to join in - had to work :(.
I think my next Christmas gathering is actually Christmas day - have three planned that day; Christmas morning, Beth's big family get-together, Beth's direct family get-together. May not go to the last one. Beth has to work then too.

I'm Off!
Okay, so I figured I'd try this "Blogging" thing I've heard so much of. As i understand it, the point of this is to basically just put my thoughts down on paper...err, umm, cyber-paper. This is all for me. I don't care if anyone ever reads this. Therefore any links or responses are silly and I will, of course, ignore them. That's right. I do not care if anyone responds. It won't hurt my feelings at all. There. Glad I got that out of the way.
I suppose I should tell something about myself. Not that it matters, cause I'm the only one reading this; but seeing as my memory isn't so good; My name is Shane. I was born in a cabin I built with my own two hands. I grew up - more or less. A dozen years ago, I was even able to trick someone into marrying me. Poor Beth.
Over the years I've had many interests (science, pseudo-science, blatently non-science, major geek stuff, etc.) and occupations (Security Guard, Bouncer, Bodyguard, Bus Driver, etc.). I've been a college student and I'm an ordained Minister. Currently, I'm on disability and trying my hand at writing. We shall see how that goes.
Nine years ago (I think, math isn't my strong suit) I was in a car wreck - other guys fault. Other guy didn't have insurance or even a license. Messed up my shoulder, arm and hand pretty badly. I was out of work for the better part of a year. I lost that job, but eventually got a better one.
Around three or four years ago I started having headaches, leg and back pains, and severe dizziness. After an annoying amount of stupidity by my (ex)Primary Care Physician, I was finally approved to see a neurologist. One visit and one MRI later and suddenly I'm on the operating table - Brain Surgery! Actually, brain and spinal surgery. Chiari Malformation I with a 20mm Cerbellur Herniation and Syringomyelia. Basically, my brain was being squeezed into my spine and blocking the flow of spinal fluid. This can led to exciting stuff like paralysis, memory loss, brain damage, death, etc.
I'm feeling much better now. Well, some better. I have a pretty constant mild headache, some light paralysis in my right arm and hand, aforementioned bad memory, various aches, pains, diziness, again etc. But I'm still alive and kicking. Actually, I try to avoid much in the kicking department - both feet on the ground for dizzy Shane. The important part is "Alive"
